Welcome to sristudies.org, a resource for academics, investment professionals, and other people interested in the quantitative aspects of socially responsible investing (SRI).

Important Note: sristudies.org will not be updated going forward. The site covers studies of corporate social responsibility, socially responsible investing, and sustainable investing up until the 2010-2011 timeframe. See the Home page for further information.

sristudies.org originated as a project of Lloyd Kurtz in the late 1990s. The idea was to have an online notebook of substantive material related to social investment. As the field grew in importance and the scope of the project outran Lloyd's ability to sustain it, the site became a project of the Moskowitz Research Program, which is affiliated with the Center for Responsible Business at the Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley. A press release on this affiliation can be found here.

In 2009, Nadja Guenster and Jeroen Derwall, both well-regarded experts in the field of sustainable investment, joined sristudies.org as co-editors.

You can access all of the material on this site using the menu bar and search box on the left. The core content is an annotated bibliography of a few hundred academic studies relevant to social investors. Most of the entries are brief notes taken by the editors between 1996 and 2011. Although these were originally intended primarily for academic researchers and investment professionals, they may also be of some use to people who are just trying to figure out what social investment is all about.

You should know that these notes are sometimes done in haste. If we see a working paper and take notes on it, we may or may not see the final published version, and may or may not have a chance to update the citation.
