An overview of social investing that includes a proprietary survey of 250 retail investors in the UK about their attitudes toward SRI. The survey, conducted by a Warwick University psychologist, finds that 48% "believed that SRI could have an impact on how businesses behaved. 75% of those questioned felt that any influence of SRI on business would do more good than harm [and] the environment was most often mentionedÉas an issue to be taken into account in managing an SRI fund, although ethical issues (tobacco, terrorism, oppression, arms, war) were also frequently mentioned." The survey responses were "largely unaffected" by demographic factors such as age and sex.
